19th ACPQ EXCELLENCE GALA HELD ON NOVEMBER 16, 2017

THE FINALISTS AND THEIR PROJECTS ARE:


A maximum of 3 finalists per category

 

1- In-ground Pools (60,000 litres or less)

The finalists and their projects are:

Piscine Hudon of Laval, custom pool for a small farm (project 1.1).

Piscine Hudon of Laval, custom pool for a model home (project 1.2).

Piscines P. Massie of Mirabel, Trombino project (project 1.3).

2- In-ground Pools (61,000 litres or more)

The finalists and their projects are:

Piscines et Spas Barracuda of Gatineau, high-end, multi-level pool (project 2.1).

Piscines et Spas Barracuda of Gatineau, high-end, modern style pool (project 2.2).

Piscines P. Massie of Mirabel, high-end pool for condominiums in Mirabel (project 2.3).

3- Above-ground Pools

The winning business and its project are:

Piscines Soucy of Québec, resin pool, Savana model (project 3).

4- Commercial Water Projects

The finalists and their projects are: 

Les Entreprises Daniel Brûlé/Piscines EDB of Laval, pool of the Camping du Domaine du Rêve campground (project 4.1).

Piscines Soucy of Québec, Bora Parc Valcartier (project 4.2).

5- Renovation Projects

The finalists and their projects are:

Piscines P. Massie of Mirabel, Binette project (project 5.1).

Piscines P. Massie of Mirabel, Grignon project (project 5.2).

Piscines P. Massie of Mirabel, Guay project (project 5.3).

6- Mechanical Rooms

The finalists and their projects are:

Béton Décorum of Magog, Noah Spa of Thetford (project 6.1).

Piscines Soucy of Québec, Place des Canotiers, Old Québec (project 6.2).

7- Spas

No applications received.

 

The winning projects will be revealed on the evening of the ACPQ Excellence Gala on November 16. Note that the jury evaluated the 21 applications without knowing the names of the businesses that presented projects. Thank you to our member businesses for entering the contest. Also, thank you to our selection committee comprised of Emmanuel Amadio, consultant for Watertec, and Ludovic Archambault, co-owner of Piscines Gratton.

 



DESCRIPTION OF CONTEST

For each of the seven following categories, the selection committee will choose three finalists, and the winning businesses will be revealed during the ACPQ Excellence Gala on November 16, 2017.

In what categories do you wish to present projects?

  1. In-ground pools of 60,000 litres or less
  2. In-ground pools of 61,000 litres or more
  3. Above-ground pools
  4. Commercial water installations
  5. Renovation projects
  6. Mechanical rooms
  7. Spas


ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  1. The contest is open to all retailers and service businesses that are members of the ACPQ.
  2. An entry form must be completed for each application submitted. Please see the form below.
  3. Businesses can submit a maximum of three applications per category. The first application is free. The entry fee for all additional applications, whether they are in the same category or not, is $75.
  4. All applications must include answers to all of the form’s questions and be accompanied by high-resolution digital photographs.


CONTEST RULES

  1. All submitted projects must have been carried out over the years 2014 to 2017 and must never have been presented as part of this contest.
  2. Projects cannot be entered in more than one category for a given year.
  3. Photographs must not feature people, pets, or alcoholic beverages. Names, addresses, and copyrights must not appear on the photographs, and copyrights must have been obtained before submitting projects. By entering this contest, winners consent to the dissemination of project photos without compensation for any promotional activity that could be undertaken by the ACPQ.
  4. All installations must comply with the National Building Code and any other regulation concerning pool installation.
  5. Contest closes Wednesday, November 1st, 2017.


SELECTION OF FINALISTS

The selection committee will evaluate all projects submitted for the contest based on the following criteria: design, construction method, complexity, creativity, quality, adaptation to the terrain, and landscaping.

The winning businesses, chosen by the Awards Selection Committee, will be final.
